Record window titles
Section titled “Record window titles”Window titles can contain document names, e-mail subjects or other personal data. If you do not need them, turn this setting off. The desktop app then removes titles before sending, and Workify360 also drops them when it saves activity.
Record website addresses
Section titled “Record website addresses”Addresses come from Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Chromium, Arc and Firefox on Windows (from desktop app 2.0.6) and from Chrome (also Chrome Canary and Chromium), Brave and Safari on macOS. Other browsers, Linux, and Edge, Arc and Firefox on macOS report no addresses. The addresses show where the browser time went.
When the setting is off, desktop app 2.0.7 and later do not read addresses at all, so they are not stored on the computer either, and Workify360 also drops any it receives when saving. A change of the setting reaches the app without a restart. Until it has received the company’s settings once (on its first start, after signing out, or from a server too old to send them), desktop app 2.0.7 reads no addresses; when it starts offline, it uses the settings it last received. Desktop app 2.0.6 and earlier read the addresses with the setting off too, removed them before sending and kept them in their local copy on the computer. Turning the setting off does not delete the addresses a computer has already stored; from then on the app sends none.
Private windows: from desktop app 2.0.7, a private window that the app recognizes is recorded as the browser app only, without the window title or the address, whatever these settings say. On Windows the app recognizes Chrome and Brave incognito windows in every language, Edge InPrivate windows and Firefox private windows; Opera, Vivaldi and Arc private windows on Windows only if the browser keeps Chromium’s wording for them. On macOS it recognizes Chrome and Brave incognito windows; Safari private windows on macOS cannot be told apart and are recorded like normal windows. Private windows are not recognized on Linux. Desktop app 2.0.6 and earlier recognized private windows on Windows only by English words in the title and still sent the title. The details for employees are in what Focus records.
Keep window titles for
Section titled “Keep window titles for”Window titles older than this period are no longer shown in the reports, the detail pages or exports, which show “retention expired” instead. The time totals are kept. Only the company level has this setting.
Where titles and URLs appear
Section titled “Where titles and URLs appear”- Only when a single person is selected on an Apps & URLs detail page, for up to 31 days at a time.
- In the Titles and URLs export, for people whose title tracking is on and within the retention period.
- Never in team lists, the dashboard or e-mail reports. The live Team page (updated about every minute) and the dashboard show website hosts and domains, not full URLs.
Before you change anything
Section titled “Before you change anything”Tell your team what is recorded and why. What Focus records about me is written for employees and can be shared with them.
