Import users from Google Workspace or Slack
Este conteúdo não está disponível em sua língua ainda.
Instead of typing every address, owners and admins can import the people of their Google Workspace directory or their Slack workspace: Focus lists them, shows who is new, and sends invitations to the people you choose. User import is part of the Pro and Premium plans.
An import is a one-time list with invitations, not a lasting sync. People who leave your Google Workspace or Slack after an import stay in Focus until you suspend or remove them in Settings → Users. To add and remove people automatically, use SCIM (SCIM provisioning).
Connect the directory
Section titled “Connect the directory”Open Settings → Integrations and start the user import. Connect the source once; later imports reuse the connection.
- Google Workspace: sign in with a Google Workspace administrator account and allow Focus to read the user
directory. An account that is not a Workspace administrator cannot give this access, and the connection is refused
(
oauth_scope_missing). - Slack: choose the workspace and allow Focus to read its members and their e-mail addresses.
Focus only reads the directory. It never changes anything in Google Workspace or Slack. If Workify360 has not set up
the provider yet, it is shown as not available (integration_not_configured).
Find people and choose
Section titled “Find people and choose”- Choose Find people. Focus reads the directory in the background, up to 5,000 people, and notifies you when the list is ready.
- The preview groups everyone:
| Group | Who |
|---|---|
| New | Not a member and not invited yet; only these can be invited |
| Member | Already a member of your organization |
| Invited | Has an open invitation |
| Excluded | Suspended or archived accounts, bots and apps, Slack guests, deleted accounts and people without an e-mail address |
- Select the people to invite, or all new people, and choose:
- Role: Employee (the default), Manager or Team admin. An import never makes anyone an owner or an admin; you can change roles later in Settings → Users.
- Team: one team for everyone, or the team whose name matches each person’s department (the team you chose
otherwise). For Google Workspace the department is the last part of the person’s organizational unit, for
example
Salesfor/Europe/Sales, not the Department field of their profile. Slack has no departments.
- Choose Invite selected.
The preview is kept for 24 hours. After that it is deleted, and you start again with Find people
(import_run_expired).
The invitations
Section titled “The invitations”Focus sends the usual invitation e-mail to each selected person (users and roles).
People join when they accept it; until then they are invited users, who are not billed. People who are already
members or invited are skipped, and an organization whose account is read-only cannot send invitations
(subscription_read_only). On the Free plan, which allows up to 3 active users, no invitation can
be sent while 3 users are active, and nobody can accept an invitation that would make a fourth active user
(plan_seat_limit). The result shows how many people were invited and skipped.
Disconnect
Section titled “Disconnect”Remove the directory connection on its card in Settings → Integrations. Focus withdraws its access at Google or Slack. People who were invited or joined stay.
