macOS permissions (Accessibility, browser)

Konten ini belum tersedia dalam bahasa Anda.

On macOS, Focus needs two kinds of permission: Accessibility to see which app and window are in front, and Automation to read the address of the open tab in your browser.

In System Settings, the app is listed as Workify360 Focus.

Without it, Focus cannot tell which app you are using, and your day shows little or no app time. Desktop app 2.0 shows a notification and the menu item Allow Accessibility access… until the permission is granted.

  1. Choose Allow Accessibility access… in the Focus menu, or open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility yourself.
  2. Turn on Workify360 Focus. If it is not in the list, click +, choose Applications → Workify360 Focus and turn it on.
  3. Quit Focus from its menu (Quit Workify360 Focus) and open it again.

Desktop app 2.0 is signed with an Apple developer certificate, so macOS keeps the permission when the app updates itself.

The first time Focus reads the address of the open tab, macOS asks whether Workify360 Focus may control the browser, for example Google Chrome or Safari. Click OK (or Allow).

If you clicked Don’t Allow, the app says so in a notification. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation, expand Workify360 Focus and turn on your browsers.

On macOS, Focus records the address in Google Chrome (also Chrome Canary and Chromium), Brave and Safari. Time in other browsers, such as Edge, Firefox or Arc, counts as time in that browser app. When your company turns off Record website addresses, no addresses are sent even with this permission, and from desktop app 2.0.7 the app does not read them at all. macOS can still ask for the permission then, because Focus also asks the browser for the tab title and whether a Chrome or Brave window is private.

Screenshots are off by default, and Focus needs no Screen Recording permission for anything else. Only when your organization turns screenshots on for you and you have given your consent does the desktop app ask for Screen Recording (on macOS 15 and later: Screen & System Audio Recording). The steps, the restart and the monthly confirmation of macOS 15 are in the Screen Recording permission.

Use your Mac for a few minutes, then open My Focus in the dashboard. Your apps should appear within a minute or two. If not, see data is not syncing.
