Sign in with Google or Microsoft

یہ مواد ابھی آپ کی زبان میں دستیاب نہیں ہے۔

Instead of a password, you can sign in with:

  • Google: a Google account, including a Google Workspace account of your company.
  • Microsoft: a Microsoft work or school account (Microsoft Entra ID). Personal Microsoft accounts, such as Hotmail accounts, are not supported.

On the sign-in page, choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft and pick your account. The desktop app signs in through your browser, so the same buttons work there.

If you use two-step verification, Focus still asks for your code after Google or Microsoft.

When you already have a Workify360 account

Section titled “When you already have a Workify360 account”

Focus links the Google or Microsoft account to your existing Workify360 account only when the provider confirms that the e-mail address belongs to you:

ProviderWhen the e-mail address counts as confirmed
GoogleGoogle marks the address as verified, and it is a Gmail address or an address of the account’s own Google Workspace domain
MicrosoftMicrosoft confirms that the organization owns the address’s domain (the xms_edov claim)

When the address is confirmed, the accounts are linked and you are signed in. Focus e-mails you that a new sign-in method was added.

When it is not confirmed, Focus does not link anything by itself. The page Link your account says: “An account with this e-mail address exists already. To use Google with it, confirm the account below and sign in once with its password.” (or Microsoft). Below that it shows the provider, the external account and its account ID.

  1. Check that you started this sign-in yourself just now and that the account shown is yours. If not, close the page: nothing is linked.
  2. Enter your password and tick “I started this sign-in and the external account above is mine.”
  3. Choose Sign in and link, and enter your code if you use two-step verification.

The Google or Microsoft account is then linked to the account you signed in to. This protects you: someone who creates a Google or Microsoft account with your address but cannot prove it never gets into your Workify360 account.

With a confirmed address, Focus creates a Workify360 account for you. Then accept your invitation, or create an organization if sign-up is open. With an address the provider did not confirm, the new account first has to be confirmed from the e-mail Focus sends you.

Google, Microsoft and company accounts linked to your Workify360 account stay linked until they are removed. To see them, open Profile from your user menu in the top bar, then your profile’s Security tab. The Sign-in methods card lists each linked account with its e-mail address, when it was linked and when you last signed in with it.

To remove one:

  1. Choose Unlink next to the account and confirm.
  2. Confirm your sign-in if you are asked to (confirming sensitive actions).

You can no longer sign in with that account. Your data and your membership do not change.

You cannot remove the last way to sign in: if you have no password and only one linked account, the error last_login_method appears. Link another account first, by signing in with it once, and then unlink the old one.

Allowed sign-in methods of an organization

Section titled “Allowed sign-in methods of an organization”

Owners and admins choose in Settings → Security → Sign-in policy, under Allowed sign-in methods, which methods members may use to open the organization: password, Google, Microsoft and company sign-in (single sign-on). At least one method stays allowed (sign-in policy).

  • If you signed in with a method the organization does not allow, the organization cannot be selected, and the page says that the organization does not allow this way of signing in. Sign out and sign in with an allowed method.
  • Under Switch organization in your user menu, such an organization is greyed out with the hint “This organization requires a different sign-in method”.
  • When the policy changes, sessions opened with a method that is no longer allowed end with their next request.
  • Password sign-in can only be turned off while an active single sign-on connection exists, and the owner can still sign in with a password so the organization is never locked out.
